Teachers in Hardhats is a program run every winter by the Southern Maine Tech Prep office started by Frank Ingerowski at PATHS.
In this program, high school educators visit seven local businesses that represent a variety of economic sectors. The businesses are
selected on the basis of the opportunities available for young people or the high tech skill level required for employment.
We accept as many as 20 registrants. During these visits the teachers hear presentations by company managers, have a tour of the
facility and have a dialogue about the skills and academic abilities needed by young people who are going to succeed in this market.
