Tech Prep offers an educational career pathway providing avenues for students to obtain a seamless technical education, beginning in high school, continuing through the
Community
College System and beyond.
Through the Maine Tech Prep Consortium, the
Community
Colleges in Maine work in close partnership with consortium high schools, regional technical centers, businesses, industries and communities to prepare students for success in the workplace or at the next higher level of learning.
A Tech Prep student matriculating in an associate degree program will have the following advantages:
- The student has the opportunity to receive college credits based upon evaluation of his/her achievement of pre-determined competencies acquired in high schools with formal articulation agreements with
NMCC.
- The student may receive advanced placement.
- The student will not be charged for credits earned via articulation agreements
